Welcome To My Industrial Door and Control System Website!
My name is George Shrokman, Jr. and I am an Industrial Door GEEK!
These are the very large doors used in Steel Mills, Automotive Assembly and Parts Plants, Cement Manufacturing Plants, Ship Yards, Aerospace Facilities, Chemical Plants, and any other dirty gritty smokey plant you see along the highway! Many of these doors are so big you could move your house right through them and still have clearance on each side and at the top!
What do you mean by Consultant?
As a consultant, I connect building owners, architects, engineers, planners and general contractors with door manufacturers who make products that will work in the special application they have.
So what makes you different from other people in this business?
I have over 37 years of experience in Industrial Doors. I started out installing doors with my father while I was going to school to become an electrical engineer. I have designed electrical control systems that have been used on all types of doors all over the world. Door manufacturers know that when I recommend and apply their door system it is going to work.
I will not risk my reputation or a manufacturers reputation by selling a door in an application where it will not work!
Why would I call you instead of our local Door Dealer or Material Handling Company?
Industrial Doors and Controls are my passion. Garage doors, counter shutters, dock levelers, dock shelters or fork trucks are not.
The products we apply are designed for Industrial Applications. We do not take doors designed for car washes and food freezers and apply them to heavy industrial openings. If you want those, call the local Dealer or Material Handling Company.
I am told by door manufacturers that we are unique in the industry. NOBODY else has such a wide variety of specialized products for Industrial Door applications as we do. We fit the right door to the right customer!
Why would a door manufacturer want to deal with you? I look at their websites and it looks like they all have doors that will work in my opening.
I repeat: "I will not risk my reputation or a manufacturers reputation by selling a door in an application where it will not work!"
Over the years I have applied and sold a lot of doors incorrectly. "Experience is knowing what not to do." "The only way to get experience is by making mistakes."
I already made the mistakes, and most importantly know what NOT TO DO!
There are a lot of things that go into applying the proper Industrial Door to an opening.
Are we stretching the limits of the door design?
Are we out to get the sale, and not worry about what works best for the customer? Will it work to the customer's satisfaction after it is installed? Will the engineering department of the manufacturer approve of the application? Or will they worry about whether it will work or not?
When the door is installed, will all of the manufacturers warranties be applied because of the application?
What is the exposure of the door to the elements?
Will the door hold up in the wind conditions?
Will the building structure hold the door under load conditions?
Is security a requirement? Will the control system layout protect the door from being hit?
And many more!
We work with you to make sure you get the right door for your application.
What about Service?
We always try to partner with local Door Dealers and Material Handling Companies.
We are professionals, we are their friends. We train local door dealers how to diagnose and repair minor problems, and we have factory trained regional service crews and supervisors that will back them up when needed.
